Welcome to the South Notts Real Ale Festival
From humble beginnings in 2012, the South Notts Real Ale Festival has grown to become a popular event on the East Midlands Beer Calendar. Run entirely by volunteers, the purpose of the festival is to raise money for local charities and youth rugby in Nottingham, as well as celebrating the end of the rugby season in style!
With help from our friends from Nottingham CAMRA, we bring together some fantastic beers – both local and from further afield – with great ciders and gins, good food and brilliant bands.
Beer, cider and gin
Our raison d’etre – the festival features approx. 40 cask ales, with the emphasis on LocAle (brewed within 20 miles). As well as our festival favourites, this year we showcase a number of new breweries and beers.
Music
To keep the party popping, we are entertained by some of the East Midlands’ best bands. The bands all give their time for free to support our fundraising efforts – so put on your dancing shoes and come and show them some love.
Food
Becky's Burgers will be returning again this year, to keep your bellies full throughout Friday and Saturday. After a number of special requests, we'll make sure she brings her brilliant roast pork cobs again.

Come and experience the party atmosphere of our Friday night launch event – a chance to sample the best of the festival, alongside great music, food and friends. Tickets are £5 per person + booking fee. We're including free entry to the Friday afternoon session with your ticket. Over 18s only.
Our Amazing Sponsors
Our sponsors are a major part of the festival's success. As well as offering us financial support, we always look forward to welcoming them to our Friday night party to get the festival going. If you would like to be one of our sponsors this year, please visit our Sponsor page for details of packages, or drop us a line at info@southnottsrealale.co.uk.
Bands Playing at the Festival
We've got a great music line up for the festival - both new bands and old festival favourites!
Our Friday night line up kicks off with Suffering Fools. New to the festival, they are a 5 piece band, rocking 70s, 80s and 90s bangers from the likes of Blondie, Fleetwood Mac, Credence Clearwater Revival and Thin Lizzy.
And following up, after their massively successful festival debut last year, The Lapsed are back with their high energy, guitar led 80s and 90s hits, to get you on your feet
Saturday's line up starts with the lovely Hannah Marshall, and her acoustic set. Hannah is our longest standing musical supporter - it's not the South Notts Real Ale festival without her!
Midwife crisis follow on - as a reformed version of last year's Robbing Posse, we're really not quite sure what they'll sound like, but as last year's set was a performance worth watching, we're taking a chance...!
And finally, The Terminal 5 Experience return to round off the weekend's entertainment. We just can't keep them away - and we're so excited to have our old friends back!
