About

What is the festival all about?

The South Notts Real Ale Festival started in 2012, as a small fundraising event for Nottingham Moderns Rugby Football Club. We were bowled over by the positive response that year and we went on to open the festival up to the public. We are proud and happy that the festival now has a strong following in the local beer community – we like to think it’s because of our great beer, warm welcome and close proximity to the city centre.

The festival is entirely run by volunteers – not only the organisers and team running the event, but also our CAMRA friends sourcing and keeping (and quality testing!) the beer, the bands providing the music and our creative partners at Harper Creative. And we couldn’t exist without the support of many local businesses and individuals who offer generous sponsorship, help us to advertise and come along to ensure our casks are empty at the end of the festival.

Where are we?

We are located at:

Nottingham Moderns Rugby Football Club
Main Road
Wilford
NG11 7AA

We’re right on the tram line – Wilford Village Tram stop, or only a 20-minute walk from Nottingham Train Station (if you want to get your 10,000 steps in before the beer!). We’re also well served by local taxi firms, including NG11 Cars (0115 914 5145). Please do not drink and drive.
